Cohort 1 Launch

The Mayor’s International Business Programme kicked off on 2nd February with 50 companies in the first co-hort.

Given the bespoke, tailored nature of the programme, the launch event included a roundtable discussion between the co-hort, mentors and partners to discuss the key things they wanted to achieve from the programme as well as issues they had come across in the past, with mentors and partners giving advice based on their own experiences.

The event also featured a panel discussion, moderated by Oli Barrett, Co-founder, Start-Up Britain, and with experiences entrepreneurial panellists Sherry Coutu CBE, Founder, Scale up Institute, Sarah Wood, Co-Founder & Co-CEO, Unruly and Rhodri Thomas, VP Business Development, Swiftkey.

Entrepreneur and mentor for the programme, Sherry Coutu CBE said: “As London’s technology and creative sectors continue to grow, we are starting to see a new wave of high growth companies.

"International expansion is a key enabler in helping us to produce more UK businesses of genuine scale. It is important that we draw upon our existing strengths from the large number of UK companies who are already international success stories while removing the barriers for the next generation of rising stars.”
